Polyvore: Awesome Fashion Social Site

Today I was introduced to this really cool website, Polyvore.  It is a site set up similarly to Pinterest, where people make collages (for lack of a better term) of different clothing items, fashion shots, accessories, etc.  The collage would bring together a complete look that the creator is trying to portray.

We often see these types of collages in magazines and possibly on websites.  This site allows YOU to create these collages with many options of images to search from.  You can follow others' creations and you can share your complete looks as well.

Here are some examples of collages/looks I liked!

Be sure to check Polyvore out and stay tuned for some collages I may make of looks that I'm diggin'!

Until next time!

My Review of the 2012 Oscars

So it starts off with Billy Crystal's opening video, which I must say was pretty funny...especially when he popped up as Tin Tin with that goofy hair (then every part of his head looked plastic!!).  Billy Crystal is a great host, though and definitely did a better job than Anne Hathaway and James Franco last year.

Something that bugged me though: Did anyone else notice that the audience seemed ASLEEP?  No one was laughing or cheering for any jokes at all.  I hate that awkward silence when a comedian then has to move on as if the joke never happened!

Hey Billy, I was laughing!

What the hell movie is Hugo?  I had no idea what it even was and it beats movies like Harry Potter and Transformers for effects!  Must be something really cool then....though I have to say I get extremely sick of hearing about Hugo winning awards like "Best Video Editing." Do you think they had enough filler awards?  What the hell?  We all just want to hear the good stuff!

Anyone else see J.Lo's Nip Slip?  All I can say is "Whoop! Areola..." (reference to Tech9 song for those who don't know).

I am SO happy that Octavia Spencer won Best Supporting Actress.  How cute is she?  AND I thought her speech was darling and honestly heartfelt....and then they rushed her off the stage.  BUT they did allow the random French dude 10 more seconds to read from his notecard because he doesn't know any English.

Emma Stone.  Love her.  At first I was extremely confused about what she was doing while she was presenting, but turns out it was a winning moment for her.  My love for her has just increased and I think she is the coolest woman there is.

Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow's presenting skit...FAIL.

Loved when Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis clapped their symbols in Brad Pitt's face bahahaha.

I'm kind of disappointed that Meryl Streep won Best Actress, although I really do believe she is one of the best actresses of all time.  I just really wanted Viola Davis to get it for her role in The Help.

The Artist seems like a great movie and I really want to see it.  My brother saw it and said it is one of the best movies he has ever seen.  However it seems odd to me that a non-American won Best Actor and the same goes for Best Picture.  Hmm.

I'm also very sad that War Horse didn't get anything! It was such a good movie filled with so many emotions.  So beautifully done in every way.  It should have won in at least ONE of the categories it was nominated in, I think.

Overall, I think it was a very anticlimactic show.

But here are some stars that I thought looked ravishing!
I love all of these dresses, so elegant and classic Hollywood in different ways.
I especially love the pale green!

Loved her dress! Didn't love her hair.

Pastel color AND lace!  I guess the French know how to do it!

If you know me, you know that I LOVE Kristen Wiig, but I'm not just bias.
I honestly love her dress and her total look here.
Nude dress with tulle and natural waves. Beautiful.

Stunning.

So elegant! Love the color too!

Viola Davis rocked the green so well! Love her earrings too! She looked stunning!

I just loved her hair :)

Those were my thoughts.  What did you guys think?  Let me know! :)

New Charles Ancona Show Coat!

Hey Everyone!

So sorry I haven't posted in several days.  I have been busy with school work and riding here in Gulfport!

Both of the boys, Otter and Magic, have been great so far...now I just need to whip myself in to shape!
For some reason I'm putting lots of pressure on myself with Otter and I don't really know why, so I haven't ridden him as well as I would like to.  That will change tomorrow hopefully haha.

~~

Anyway, remember my post about Charles Ancona show coats and training jackets?  Well my show coat that I ordered finally came and I got to ride in it yesterday!  I thought I'd show you some pictures because I am obsessed with it :)

It has a nice fitted look and feel, but is not too tight or restricting.
These are pictures of me and Otter yesterday.

The white cuff attached to the sleeve so you can wear short sleeves underneath and still look like you have a show shirt on!

 Silk collar and pockets!

Stay tuned for more updates from me!

Mardi Gras Highlights

Hey All!

First,
I'm OBSESSED with my new blog design! Melissa at 20 Going on 80 did such a great job and she was fabulous to work with!

Second,
My weekend was so much fun.
Mardi Gras in St. Louis with my friends.
Nuff said.

A Few Highlights Of The Trip:
1. Ate one of the best things I have ever tasted in my life...
Lobster Spring Rolls from Drunken Fish.
I have had a lobster spring roll from other places, but this one was like food Heaven!

2.  Going to the Dubliner downtown.

3.  Drinking Hurricanes outside of the Grizzly Bear and hanging out with friends all day.

4.  Seeing my cousin, Blair!

5.  Winning $100 in a penny slot machine.

6.  Being able to keep up with ebonics at the casino bar while Courtney failed miserably hahaha.

7.  One of the ghetto, hilarious black dudes said he was buying Courtney and I drinks because he just had a bad break up with a girlfriend.  I was thrilled because I was able to put my favorite line to good use:
Yes. I really asked him that.
His response: Adele
DAMN!

Courtney then proceeds with singing "Never miiiiind I'll fiiiiiind someone like youuuuu!"
He responded: I don't listen to her.
Again, Courtney fails miserably hahaha.

8.  Playing "Marry, Murder, F***" way too much for our own good and inserting hilarious options.

Let's play, but for the purpose of this blog and the readers, we will make it more PG-13.

Of these three options, who would you MARRY,
who would you HOOK UP WITH (PG-13),
and who would you KILL?
You have to choose one for each.

Ryan Gosling
Bradley Cooper
Ashton Kutcher

What would you guys do?
Tell me in my comments box!

Tomorrow I leave at 7:00 in the morning for our day-long drive to Gulfport for the horse show.  We'll be there for 3 whole weeks!  Should be fun and I'm excited to see my horses and everyone there!
I'll miss everyone at home though :(  See you when I return!

Prepare for updates from the show!

Eleven Things

So I came across a really fun thing on A Blonde Ambition's blog and instead of tagging 11 people to do this, she "tagged" everyone (the only way this new blogger will get tagged to do anything! haha).  So...I'm just going to say I was tagged and go ahead and do it! Yeehaw!

So here's how it works!

~you must post the rules
~post 11 fun facts about yourself
~answer the 11 questions that the tagger posted for you & then create 11 questions to ask the people you've tagged
~tag 11 people and link them in your post
~let them know you have tagged them

So here we go!

Eleven Fun Facts About Me

1.  This is always my answer to every "fun fact about yourself" kind of question, but you all already know this.  BUT, I am a jumper rider.  What you may NOT know already is that I really would like to become a professional eventually...after I accomplish some personal goals :)

2.  I have a weird obsession issue that the volume on the TV or the radio (if it shows the number) has to be on an even number.  If it's not then something very bad might happen....haha no I have no idea why.

3.My eyes change color! Kind of...I have hazel eyes,  but sometimes they look like they are just plain green, and other days they look just plain brown.

4.  I absolutely love Disney.  I have since I was a little girl, but I just really like it.  If you follow me on Pinterest, I have a board just for that :)

5.  I'm afraid of water.  I don't know where this phobia came from, but I am terrified to be trapped under water.  I will get in the water, but I'm too terrified to go water skiing and I even freak out when someone dunks me in the pool.  The diving board, I will do, but very, very rarely.

6.I love Shabby Chic styled homes and rooms!

7.  I believe every man is sexier in a cowboy hat.  I have a funny semi-sexual (not really sexual just something I would think is hot!) fantasy, that a couple of my friends know, that relates to a man in a cowboy hat and a good Tim McGraw song...but that's too personal to share on here! Bahaha

8.  I'm obsessed with smutty TV shows like Dance Moms, Toddler's & Tiaras, Wife Swap and Supernanny.

9.I have a strange obsession with crime stories.  Not crime novels, but actual crime stories.  I would LOVE to be a CSI agent I think, a la Jodie Foster in The Silence of the Lambs.  I don't pursue this though for the sake of my image and because it would take too long in school.  One of my favorite TV channels is Investigation Discovery (ID) where they play real life murder cases all day.

10.  My deal breaker quality in a man is that he HAS to make me laugh.  How boring would that be otherwise?

11. I was a cheerleader in high school and also was super involved in broadcast in high school.  I was a part of BVTV and was voted best anchor.  Came to college thinking I was going to be a news anchor and learned the reality and that ain't the case anymore! haha
Me in my high school cheer uniform!

Here's The 11 Questions From "A Blonde Ambition"

1. If you could raid any celebrity's closet, who would it be and why?

Sarah Jessica Parker.  I mean HELLO? Why wouldn't you raid that closet!  Gotta love a good SJP.

2. If you were a shoe, what would you look like?

I would be a platformed, nude pump that was actually comfortable to walk in.  Classy, chic, and goes with everything.

Oh, look! That's me as a shoe!

3. What is your biggest pet peeve?
I hate when people chew with their mouth open.  The sound of smacking is just enough to make my skin crawl.

4. Favorite song of all-time?
Wow this is extremely hard since I love music. I don't think I can choose my favorite song of all time, but I can tell you that I'm really loving Takin' Pills by Pistol Annies and Over You by Miranda Lambert right now.

5. Are you a dog person or a cat person? And why? (If you don't like animals, we can't be friends.)
I like both.  I love my dogs that we have. Yep, all 5 of them. And my Mongu (cat) is my baby.  Her real name is Pixie, don't remember where the nickname Mongu came from haha.
That's Mongu with a bow :)

6. You're queen for a day. How do you spend your royal 24 hours?
Being pampered, attending royal balls and having my hair and makeup done before.  I would also obviously have to have extremely awesome clothes and everyone would bow when I walked in. Ha!

7. What's the most delicious thing you've ever eaten?
Chipotle burrito bowl or Lobster Mac n Cheese from Bristol.  At least that's what I think right now because that sounds good to me.  I'm starving.

8. What scares you the most? (This can be deep and complex or shallow...whateva you feel like!)
Honestly, that I won't find the man of my dreams or that my goals will not ever happen.  Deep.

9. Which celebrity do you wish would drift off into obscurity?
Well I wished that Speidi would drift away and they kind of did.  I don't currently have one that I wish would go away, but when I do, they better watch out because last time I wished someone would go away....they did.

10. You're 16 years old again. What advice would you give your younger self?
Your strength is about to be tested.  Don't worry, you come out on top.  Just hold on and get through the bad times and enjoy the good times.  You are a good person :)

11. What's your Starbucks order?
Grande Vanilla Skim Latte.   Unless it's Pumpkin Spice Latte season.

Ok so now I'm tagging all of you to do this!
Everyone who reads this can play!

Here Are My Questions to You

6.  What food could you eat everyday?
7.  What is your favorite thing about yourself?
